Read this before you decide
One thing we say plainly, because many people are told otherwise: registering a company in Spain does not by itself give you residency. Plenty of people have paid incorporation costs and only then discovered the permit is a separate matter. A company can be the foundation of a residence route — but only if it is built correctly from day one. Talk to us and we will show you how the company and the permit fit together in your case.
What you should know
- The legal minimum share capital has been €1 since 2022, but most banks will not open a corporate account below €3,000 — and without an account the company cannot trade.
- Non-resident shareholders need a NIE before the notary appointment; from abroad that takes two weeks to three months and is the single most common cause of delay.
- Total incorporation cost, excluding share capital, usually runs €1,200–3,500.
- Via CIRCE incorporation can complete in 24–48 hours; the standard notarial route takes 5–15 working days.
- A paid director must register with RETA, and statutory books must be filed within four months of the fiscal year end — both carry penalties if missed.
